American Football has been one of the world’s most favored competitive sports. In the United States, multitudes of spectators gather and eagerly watch a football game until a turnover breaks the crowd into a knockabout laughter and much cheering for the team that won. College football is likewise a hit with numerous 100,000 plus stadiums that sell out each week. Football Is Not for Everyone.
The rules of football allow for an offensive as well as a defensive player to play without restriction. That is why every player is required to wear protective gear, including a helmet, face mask, shoulder pads, gloves, girdles, and so on. This game is usually identified as a sport of violence. It is played with the football being advanced down a field by runners (also called rushing) or by passing until the opposing team tackles or brings the player with the ball to the ground. Points in this game are scored by advancing the football beyond the goal line. This is called in football lingo as a touch down. Points are also scored by kicking the ball through a field goal. The rules of this sport are quite complex, yet many of those who come to love the game give all they have to win for the team that they represent.
