Arlington Bowie enters its bye in the afterglow of
one of their best performances of the season in last
week’s 38-12 victory over Arlington Martin. The
Volunteers compiled 338 yards of offense, held
Martin to 218 yards and didn’t allow the Warriors to
score until the fourth quarter with the game
decided. “It was the first time this year we had a
complete game offensively, defensively and special
teams,” Bowie coach Kenny Perry said.

As defenders left the
field following a fourth-down incompletion,
Texas
cornerback Ryan Palmer said he sensed something
special about this year’s unit. "That showed we can
be a hard-nosed, blue-collar defense," said Palmer,
a senior from Arlington Bowie. "That gave us a lot
of confidence."
